Dead On A Sunday
Dead On A Sunday is the brainchild of Denver vocalist, songwriter and producer
Ross Ryan—a genre-blurring project built at the intersection of gothic rock, post-
punk, darkwave and alternative music. Balancing genuine melancholy with an
unmistakable personality, Dead On A Sunday creates music that is difficult to
categorize by design, yet feels both strangely familiar while still entirely its own.
The project emerged from the shadows of Denver, Colorado, in 2021 combining
brooding vocals, emotionally direct songwriting and unexpected genre collisions
which quickly connected with listeners searching for something beyond the
boundaries of traditional goth and alternative music. Dead On A Sunday’s
audience expanded dramatically after Ryan’s distinctive baritone became the
subject of an unexpected viral comparison to the voice of Bob Belcher from Bobs
Burgers. What began as an inside joke between the band and its fans introduced
millions of new listeners to a much deeper musical world—one filled with doomed
romance, dark humor, cinematic atmosphere and songs that refuse to remain
inside a single genre.
That momentum continued with each release as Dead On A Sunday’s sound
pushed into heavier, darker and more expansive territory, while the band’s
electrifying live performances brought the project to audiences across the country
and around the world establishing Dead On A Sunday as both a powerful recording
project and an increasingly formidable live act with a fiercely independent spirit
and an identity that continues to evolve
